Chapter 16 - A New Dawn at the EstateThree weeks later, the sprawling gardens of the Castillion estate were blooming with white lilies under the bright autumn sun.

The media frenzy had died down, replaced by a quiet, orderly restructuring of the city's legitimate corporate and shipping networks. With the corrupt factions purged, the Castillion Foundation was officially reorganized under joint oversight, dedicating millions of dollars to medical care, family support funds, and community housing for estate workers and their dependents.

Clara Bennett was no longer wearing a black maid's uniform.

Standing on the second-floor balcony of the west wing, she wore a tailored emerald-green blazer, looking out over the manicured lawns and the iron gates that now marked a sanctuary rather than a prison. As head of estate operations, she commanded the respect of every staff member and senior advisor who walked through the doors.

"You're looking thoughtful this morning," a deep, familiar voice spoke from behind her.

Clara turned to see Leo leaning against the doorway of her private office. He had discarded his formal black suit jacket in favor of a crisp white linen shirt, looking more relaxed than she had ever seen him.

"I was just thinking about my first day here," Clara smiled softly. "Carrying an eight-pound tray with a broken wrist, convinced I was going to lose my job, my apartment, and my mother's medical care in twenty-four hours."

Leo walked out onto the balcony, stopping just inches away from her. The cool morning breeze caught his dark hair. "And instead, you ended up owning half my attention and saving the entire empire."

"I think you saved me, Leo," she corrected gently.

Leo reached out, his warm fingers brushing against the sleeve of her blazer, right where her wrist had once been broken. The cast was gone now, replaced only by a faint, fading scar that served as a reminder of where they had both started.

"We saved each other," Leo corrected quietly.
