Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Throne

Six months later.
The annual Thorne Foundation Charity Gala was once again underway in the grand ballroom downstairs. The chandeliers glittered brilliantly against the high vaulted ceilings. The cameras flashed endlessly. High-society elites, politicians, and global investors laughed, drank champagne, and whispered polite compliments to one another across tables covered in white linen and red roses.
In the VIP suite upstairs—the exact same suite where it had all begun—the atmosphere was entirely different.
Khloe Thorne stood before the floor-to-ceiling mirror, adjusting the straps of a magnificent emerald-green evening gown that hugged her post-pregnancy silhouette with breathtaking elegance. She wasn't hiding in the corner. She wasn't enduring endless fake smiles. She was wearing the crown of a queen who had survived the fire and emerged untouchable.
The door opened silently.
Marcus walked in, wearing his signature black tuxedo, holding a small, velvet-lined jewelry box. He walked up behind her, wrapping his arms securely around her waist, resting his chin gently on her shoulder.
"The ballroom is downstairs waiting for us," Marcus whispered, his voice warm and deep against her ear. "The press is already asking if the legendary Mrs. Thorne is going to make an appearance tonight."
Khloe turned around in his embrace, looking up into his eyes with a fierce, confident smile. She reached into the velvet box he was holding and pulled out a magnificent diamond-encrusted brooch shaped like a falcon in flight—the new emblem of the Thorne-Vance alliance.
"Let them look," Khloe said softly, pinning the brooch to the lapel of his tuxedo with absolute precision. "Let them see every single diamond, every single scar, and every single warning."
Marcus smiled, leaning down to press his lips softly against hers in a slow, deep kiss that carried no pretense, no performance, and no fear.

"Come on, my queen," Marcus murmured against her lips as the distant sound of ballroom music drifted up through the private elevator shaft. "Let's go show them who really owns the world."
Hand in hand, the billionaire and his wife walked out of the suite, stepping together into the golden light of the hallway—not as targets of a vicious conspiracy, but as the unbreakable rulers of an empire that nothing could ever destroy again.
