Chapter 10 - THE FINAL REVELATIONCaleb walked up behind his mother. He had heard everything.

The look on his face wasn't fear anymore. It was the look of a man who had finally woken up.

"You used me," Caleb said to his mother. "You orchestrated my entire life. You picked Brooke because you thought her family was 'clean,' only to find out she wasn't a pawn you could control."

He looked at me, then at our son.

"I’m done, Mom," he said. "The inheritance, the bloodline, the secrets. We’re moving to the other side of the country. And you... you’re never seeing him again."

Margaret lunged for him, but the hospital security—and the police—were already there, tipped off by the hospital's own internal investigation into the baby-swap scandal.

As they led her away, kicking and screaming, I held my son tight.

"We’re going home," Caleb whispered.

"We are," I agreed. "But we’re not the same people who walked into this hospital."

I looked at the hospital entrance one last time. I had lost the trust I once had in my husband, but I had found something better: the strength to stand up to the people who thought they owned me. The bloodline ended with us, and the future was finally ours to write.
