The hospital room felt like a cage. Caleb returned an hour after being kicked out, his face pale, holding a packet of legal-looking forms.

Chapter 5 - THE HOSPITAL BLUNDERThe nurse rushed in, but I wasn't listening to her. I was staring at Caleb.
"Check the baby's ID bracelet," I demanded.
"What?"
"Check the damn bracelet!"
Caleb looked at Miles’s wrist. The plastic band was loose. He looked at the paperwork. "It says Miles Callahan. Room 402."
"I am in 402," I said, my brain racing. "Caleb, get the nurse. Now."
The nurse walked over, looking annoyed. "Sir, you need to step back."
"Where is the other baby born in this wing tonight?" I asked.

"There was another C-section at the same time as mine. I heard her crying in the hall. Where is her baby?"
