Chapter 11 - The Secret of the Meteorite ArmorThe dust settled in the ruined study, leaving a deep crater where the obsidian knight had struck the floor. Though pinned by the gravitational singularity, the knight’s armor refused to break; instead, it began to hum with a high-pitched frequency that resonated directly inside Elina and Richard’s skulls.

“You cannot destroy what was forged in the dying breath of the First Age,” the knight rasped, its crimson eyes flickering. “We are the guardians of the Cosmic Gate. The king who locked you away in iron... he did not do it out of fear alone. He did it to keep them from finding this coordinate.”

Richard pulled himself up from the wreckage of the bookshelves, wiping a streak of blood from his brow. "What is it talking about, Elina? Your father knew about these things?"

Elina lowered her hand, letting the gravitational field dissolve. The obsidian knight rose slowly to its feet, no longer aggressive, but standing rigidly as if waiting for a command.

“My father was a keeper of the southern observatory,” Elina’s voice echoed softly, filled with a sudden, tragic realization. “He found my mother when she fell from the Sky-Wept Reach. When I was born without a mortal face, he consulted the ancient star-texts. He built the helmet not to hide a deformity, but to mask my cosmic signature from the Vanguard’s tracking beacons.”

She turned her faceless head toward the knight. “You are not here to destroy Oakhaven. You are here because the beacon was lit the moment the lock clicked open in the cathedral.”

The knight slowly knelt, resting its flaming sword point-down against the cracked stone. “The gate is unsealed, Queen Elina. And the True Sovereign of the Sky-Wept Reach has detected your awakening. She is coming.”
