Under my leadership, we implemented mandatory mentorship programs, restructured executive compensation to reward equity rather than entitlement, and cultivated an environment where talent and substance mattered more than ancestral names.

Word had gotten out across Wall Street about the mysterious woman who had dismantled Grant Enterprises in a single night using the very weapon her ex-husband had handed her. People called me ruthless; they called me calculating. But the people who worked alongside me knew the truth: I was simply fair, fiercely protective of my boundaries, and unwilling to ever be second best in my own life again.

On a crisp Saturday afternoon, I walked through Central Park, the scent of blooming cherry blossoms drifting through the air. I wore a bright red cashmere coat—the very first one I had purchased with Alexander’s card, the color he had once forbidden me from wearing because he called it too loud.

As I passed a row of blooming magnolias, a familiar figure stepped out from beneath the shade of an old oak tree.
