Chapter 30 - The Easter Table

The long wooden table in the center of the garden was covered with fresh linen, delicious food, and hundreds of brilliantly decorated Easter eggs shining under the golden spring sunlight.
There were no whispered insults. There was no fear. There was only laughter, music, and the warm, unbreakable bond of a family built on love rather than ledgers.
Sofia placed a bright blue egg right in the center of the table, stepping back to admire her work with a triumphant grin.
I took my seat at the head of the table, flanked by Andrés on one side and my daughter on the other, raising my glass in a quiet toast to the resilience of the human heart.
The rain had stopped long ago.
