Chapter 10 - The Final WhisperLate that evening, after Lily had fallen fast asleep in her own bed for the first time in her life without nightmares, Daniel and Evelyn sat together by the fireplace in the master study.

The flames crackled softly, casting warm, amber light across the room. Evelyn rested her head gently on Daniel’s shoulder, staring into the fire.

Daniel wrapped his arm tightly around her, pulling her closer against his chest. He looked toward the hallway leading to the old storage room—now quiet, peaceful, and filled with light.

"I don't need to think about it," Daniel murmured, pressing a soft kiss into her hair. "Because she did. Some secrets are just too heavy to stay buried forever."

Evelyn smiled in the firelight, closing her eyes as she listened to the steady, reassuring beat of her husband's heart. The past was behind them, and for the first time in five years, tomorrow belonged entirely to them.
