Chapter 7 - The Bloodline's Secret

Cora stared at her father, her mind reeling in absolute disbelief. "Father? You... you're working for Falcone? The debts... the loan sharks..."

"All a show, my dear," Arthur smiled coldly. "To keep you in the dark until you were old enough to claim what is rightfully yours."

Don Falcone stepped forward, bowing slightly. "You don't know who you really are, Cora. Your mother wasn't just a nurse. She was Isabella Falcone—my only daughter. You are the sole legitimate heir to the Falcone empire."

Cora’s breath hitched. "No... that's impossible. My mother died in a municipal clinic!"

"Because Julian Voss’s father hunted her down!" Arthur snapped, his demeanor shifting into pure rage. "I hid you in plain sight. I faked my addiction. I orchestrated the auction incident to get you near Julian so you could gather intelligence on his stronghold. But you fell for him!"

"I didn't fall for anyone!" Cora yelled, straining against the ropes. "You used me!"

"It doesn't matter," Falcone said, opening a vault on the table containing biometric scanners and encrypted hard drives. "The Voss empire falls tonight. We used your blood sample from St. Jude's to unlock the old syndicate trust. By midnight, Julian Voss will have nothing. And then, we wipe his family from the map forever."
