Chapter 15 - The Corporate TakeoverBack in New York, the financial district is buzzing with shockwaves. The massive conglomerate controlled by the Vance family has abruptly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy following a series of coordinated federal raids and sudden asset freezes.

In the glass-walled boardroom on the fiftieth floor of the Venturi Tower, Luciano sits at the head of the conference table, reviewing the acquisition agreements. Marco slides a final contract across the polished walnut surface.

“With the Vance assets absorbed into our shipping network, we now control eighty percent of the North Atlantic import routes,” Marco reports, his expression filled with professional pride. “No syndicate, no rival family, and no corrupt politician can touch us now.”

“Don’t get complacent, Marco,” Luciano warns calmly, signing his name in bold ink across the dotted line. “An empire is hardest to defend when you think you’ve won every war. Keep the internal security audits running twice a month.”

“Understood, Boss.” Marco pauses, then adds with a slight smirk. “By the way, the estate called. Elena wants to know if you’ll be home for dinner with the boys tonight. She’s making that roast you like.”

Luciano looks down at his gold watch, a rare, genuine smile touching the corners of his mouth. “Tell her I’ll be home by seven. No delays.”
