Chapter 10 - The Question That Changed EverythingThe sun dipped below the frozen hills of upstate New York, painting the sky in shades of bruised purple and burning gold.

Vincent looked up at her, the intensity in his gray eyes burning brighter than any fire in the hearth. He slowly rose from his chair, standing at his full, imposing height, towering over her just as he had on the very first night she arrived.
He didn't reach for a weapon, and he didn't issue an order. Instead, he reached out and gently took her hand, his thumb brushing over the heavy diamond ring resting on her finger—a ring chosen in malice, but kept by choice.
"Are you certain, Anna?" Vincent asked, his voice dropping to a low, raw register. "Once you cross this line with me, there is no going back. No second chances. No exits."
Anna didn't hesitate this time. She squeezed his hand back, her grip firm, unwavering, and entirely equal to his own.
"I was never looking for an exit, Vincent," she whispered.
He stared at her for a long, breathless moment, as if seeing her truly for the first time—not as a pawn, not as a bride of convenience, but as his true equal.
Then, Vincent Bellandi asked the question that changed everything.
"Then walk with me to the gates, Mrs. Bellandi," he said, a dangerous, triumphant smile breaking across his scarred face. "Let’s show them who really owns this city."

As they walked side by side out of the study, through the grand foyer, and out into the biting winter air toward the sprawling expanse of their empire, Anna knew the past was dead and buried in the snow.
They weren't hiding anymore. They were ruling.
