Chapter 20 - The Blueprint Reborn

The mechanical hum swelled into a steady, vibrating roar as the floor beneath the kitchen island began to shudder violently.
"Get Sophie!" I screamed, lunging across the room and grabbing Clara by the shoulders, shaking her out of her paralyzed shock. "Get her out of the house right now!"
"No... no, it's impossible!" Clara gasped, tears springing to her eyes as realization crashed over her like a tidal wave. "She didn't just build our house... she had properties all over the coast! Backup locations! Fallback foundations!"
"Go!" I shoved her toward the stairs, turning back to face the sliding glass door.
Outside, the handprint on the glass slowly faded into the swirling coastal fog. But as the floorboards began to tilt at a sickening thirty-degree angle, dropping our kitchen toward a dark, concrete void beneath the cottage, a new sound echoed through the night air.
It wasn't a scream. It wasn't a threat.
It was the soft, chilling sound of someone humming a familiar nursery rhyme from the darkness below the floorboards:
“Ring around the rosie, a pocket full of posies...”

As the kitchen floor fractured and the world beneath us gave way into another yawning, black abyss, I realized the most terrifying truth of all:
Some blueprints are never truly destroyed. They are simply copied, waiting for the right moment to rebuild themselves from the dust.
