Chapter 25 - The Collapse of Viktor Vance

The fallout from the dismissed lawsuit was catastrophic for the conspirators in Zurich. Within days of Judge Harrison’s ruling, our corporate legal team, armed with reciprocal international financial treaties, moved swiftly against Viktor Vance’s Swiss holding firm.

Marcus walked into my office a week later, wearing a triumphant grin, holding a freshly printed dossier.

"Maya, the Swiss banking regulators have frozen Viktor Vance’s primary assets following our counter-suit for malicious prosecution and corporate defamation. His firm is facing immediate insolvency, and he’s currently under criminal investigation for financial tampering."

I looked up from my desk, spinning my gold pen between my fingers. "And Eleanor?"

"She’s completely isolated," Marcus replied quietly. "Vance used her desperation to fund his smear campaign, draining what little she had left. She’s entirely alone in that Swiss apartment."

I stared out the window at the vibrant Chicago skyline. I felt no joy at Eleanor’s total ruin, only a profound sense of closure. She had spent her entire life building a cage out of gold and exclusivity, only to die inside a prison of her own making.

"Let her be," I said softly. "We have a global technology summit to prepare for in Tokyo."
