Chapter 7 - The Boardroom Ambush

Friday morning, 9:00 AM.

The polished mahogany boardroom of Montgomery Logistics was dead silent. Twelve board members sat around the massive oval table, their faces grim. At the head of the table sat Eleanor Montgomery, her posture rigid, though dark circles under her eyes betrayed the sleepless nights of panic.

The heavy oak doors swung open.

I walked in wearing a tailored charcoal pantsuit, flanked by Marcus and two corporate attorneys carrying thick leather briefcases. Behind us walked Liam, Noah, and Caleb—dressed in sharp matching blazers—holding my hands with absolute calm.

Eleanor sprang to her feet, her face contorting with rage. "What is the meaning of this?! Security! How did unauthorized minors—"

"Sit down, Eleanor," I said, my voice echoing coldly off the mahogany walls. "These boys are shareholders. And under Illinois corporate law, legal guardians of major stakeholders have every right to attend board proceedings."

I strode confidently to the empty seat directly opposite Eleanor, the seat traditionally reserved for the CEO. I sat down, crossing my legs gracefully, and placed my hands on the table.

"You can't sit there!" a nervous board member stammered. "That seat belongs to the chairwoman!"

"Not anymore," Marcus announced loudly, stepping forward and tossing a thick stack of documents onto the center of the table. "As of 8:45 AM this morning, Apex Media acquired an additional fifteen percent of voting shares from dissenting board members. Combined with Maya's existing holdings, and the frozen trust assets currently under federal court review..."

Marcus smiled thinly. "Maya Montgomery holds fifty-one percent of voting power in Montgomery Logistics. Effective immediately, Eleanor Montgomery is stripped of her title, and Maya Montgomery assumes controlling ownership of this corporation."

Gasps erupted around the table. Eleanor gripped the edges of her chair so hard her fingers turned blue. Her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water. "No... no, this is impossible! You can't do this! This is a family legacy! This is blood!"

"Blood?" I leaned forward, resting my chin on my interlocked fingers, my gray eyes locking onto hers with terrifying intensity. "You always cared about blood, Eleanor. Well, look at my boys. They have your blood. But they have my spine. And right now, your legacy belongs to us."
