Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Victory

The birth of the triplets was nothing short of a miracle.

On a bright October morning, surrounded by the best medical team money could buy and holding Arthur’s steady, reassuring hand, I brought three healthy, beautiful lives into the world—Leo, Maya, and Thomas, named in honor of the father who taught me never to beg for my worth.

The hospital lobby outside was swarming with reporters, but they weren't there for a scandal. They were there to report on the birth of the new heirs to the Sterling-Vance legacy.

Two years later, the grand ballroom of the Greenwich estate—now renamed The Vance-Sterling Foundation for Women—was filled not with glittering snobs and backstabbing socialites, but with laughter, running children, and mothers who had once stood where I stood: broken, discarded, and told they had nothing left to give.

I stood on the balcony in a flowing emerald dress, looking out over the manicured hedges and the stone fountain where my suitcase had once been dumped like trash.

A small pair of tiny hands grabbed the hem of my dress. I looked down to see my little girl, Maya, staring up at me with bright, fearless eyes, holding a small toy boat.

"Mommy," she asked, pointing out toward the open gates where cars drove past without stopping. "What's out there?"

I knelt down, sweeping her up into my arms, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead as Arthur walked up beside us, wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Nothing that can ever hurt us, sweetheart," I whispered, looking out toward the horizon where the sun was setting in a blaze of gold and fire. "Nothing at all."
