Chapter 20 - The Empire of Grace


Five years after that freezing March afternoon, I stood at the very same spot outside the Greenwich gates where my suitcase had once been dumped like trash.
Only this time, I wasn't an abandoned wife holding divorce papers.
I stood as Clara Vance: philanthropist, corporate titan, founder of an empire, and a mother who had turned the deepest betrayal into an unbreakable legacy.
My children ran past me down the grand driveway, their laughter echoing against the stone walls, completely free of the shadows that had once haunted our family name.
Arthur walked up beside me, handing me a single white rose—the exact flower Raymond’s family had used to signal their sterile, hollow perfection, now reclaimed and reborn into something entirely our own.
I took the rose, brought it to my chest, and looked out toward the open horizon where the sun was rising in a magnificent blaze of gold and fire.
"Ready?" Arthur asked quietly.
