Chapter 11 - The Dead Man's Switch"What the hell is happening?!" Ethan yelled, rushing to the cockpit door and slamming his fists against it. "Pilot! Open this door! Get this plane in the air!"

The cockpit door swung open. But it wasn't the pilot who stepped out.

It was Detective Vance, holding a federal arrest warrant, flanked by six armed U.S. Marshals.

"Ethan Blackwood! Claire Blackwood! Hands where we can see them!" Vance ordered, laser sights painting their chests red.

Ethan stumbled back, his eyes wide with horror. "How... how did you find this airfield?! This flight was booked under a shell company!"

"It wasn't Vance who tracked you, Ethan," a voice echoed from behind the officers.

Step by step, wearing a sharp black suit and leaning on a gold-tipped cane, stepped Harrison Blackwood.

Ethan gasped, backing into the leather seats. "Harrison?! You... you were sentenced to life in prison five hours ago!"

"A temporary holding cell at the federal courthouse," Harrison chuckled, his dark eyes fixed on his son-in-law. "Did you really think a man with my connections wouldn't have a deal with the Department of Justice? I gave Vance every offshore account, every shell company, and every fake passport you and Claire set up."

"You sold us out?!" Ethan screamed, lunging forward, but two Marshals tackled him to the floor, pinning his arms behind his back and snapping handcuffs onto his wrists.

Harrison walked up to Claire, who remained seated, calmly drinking her champagne despite the guns pointed at her.

"My sweet daughter," Harrison said softly. "You thought you were playing chess with Eleanor and Ethan. But you forgot that I built this board."

CHAPTER 11 HOOK: Claire didn't flinch. She set her champagne glass down and looked up at her father with absolute disdain. "I didn't forget, Father. That's why I pressed the button on my phone three minutes ago."

Harrison’s phone chimed. Then Vance’s phone chimed. Then every officer's phone in the cabin started ringing simultaneously.
