Erin sat at her oak desk, reviewing the final draft of her upcoming keynote speech for the national convention of Women in Corporate Law.
Her life was balanced, purposeful, and profoundly joyful. She had a thriving foundation, a brilliant legal mind, a supportive and loving partner in Marcus, and an inner strength that no amount of betrayal could ever diminish.
Her intercom buzzed.
“Ms. Carter,” Claire’s voice chimed through the speaker. “The representatives from the state judiciary committee are on line two. They’re ready to discuss your appointment to the advisory board.”
