Julian’s smile faltered for a microsecond. "What did you say?"
Before Julian could gesture to his guards, the boardroom’s massive floor-to-ceiling smart-glass windows instantly darkened from transparent to opaque black. Simultaneously, every digital device in the room—laptops, tablets, smartwatches—died with a sharp, synchronized click.
The red emergency backup lights flickered on, casting a blood-red glow over the conference table.
"You think I didn't run a background check on Aegis Capital the second your acquisition offer hit my inbox?" Arthur’s voice cut through the heavy silence like a razor. He tapped his wristwatch. "Your private jet on the tarmac at JFK? Grounded by federal customs five minutes ago for carrying unregistered offshore securities. Your local bank accounts? Frozen under anti-terrorism asset forfeiture acts."
Julian leaped to his feet, his composure completely shattering. He motioned to his guards. "Take him! Grab the drive!"

Arthur remained seated, completely unbothered, as Vance and four tactical operatives dropped silently from the ceiling access hatches, subduing Julian’s guards in a matter of seconds with lightning-fast precision.
