Chapter 15 - Whispers in the Nursery

Midnight descended upon the Sterling estate, wrapping the sprawling mansion in a blanket of absolute peace. The threat from Europe had been neutralized, the cartel accounts drained into government-backed humanitarian trusts, and Julian Vance was currently sitting in an undisclosed federal holding facility awaiting military-tribunal style prosecution.
Arthur walked quietly down the polished corridor of the second floor, his footsteps muffled by the thick Persian carpets. He paused outside the nursery door, gently pushing it open.
A soft nightlight cast a warm amber glow across the room. Lily was curled up in her bed, clutching a small stuffed rabbit, her breathing deep and even. In the corner crib, Noah was fast asleep, his tiny hands resting peacefully above his head.
Arthur walked in, adjusting Lily’s blanket with infinite gentleness. He bent down and kissed her forehead.
"You're safe now, my little warrior," he whispered softly into the quiet room.

He walked over to the large bay window, staring out at the golden gates below. The past few months had been a brutal crucible, burning away the illusions of his old life and forging something harder, purer, and entirely unbreakable. He had built an empire of wealth, but tonight, standing guard over his children, he realized his true wealth could never be measured in stocks or real estate.
It was measured in their safety, their laughter, and the absolute destruction of anyone who dared to threaten them.
