Chapter 16 - The Phantom Call

The next morning, the private phone on Arthur’s executive desk buzzed—a direct, encrypted line that only three living people possessed.

Arthur picked up the receiver. "Speak."

A synthesized, distorted voice crackled through the speaker, chilling the air in the study. "Mr. Sterling. You thought Julian was the head of the snake. He was merely the tail. The board in Zurich is not pleased that their assets were liquidated."

Arthur didn't panic; his grip on the phone merely tightened until his knuckles turned white. "If you want what Julian lost, come and get it yourself. But I promise you, my doghouses are built of much heavier steel than you think."

A cold, synthetic laugh echoed through the line before the connection went dead with a sharp click.

Arthur lowered the receiver slowly, a dangerous, unwavering glint in his eyes. The war wasn't over. The international syndicate had a deeper echelon, and they had just declared personal war on the Sterling name.

He opened his laptop, tapped a series of master commands, and activated a global contingency plan—code-named Project Cerberus. If they wanted total war, he would take the fight straight to their doorstep in Europe.
