Chapter 12 - THE SHADOW IN THE NURSERY

The discovery hit the household like a thunderclap. When Harrison learned about the missing twin boy, he immediately mobilized his private intelligence network, pulling every flight log, adoption agency archive, and hospital record from upstate New York.

That evening, the grand dining room—usually filled with the bright chatter of Benjamin and Sophia—was weighed down by an oppressive, suffocating silence.

Sophia sat beside Robert, swinging her legs under her chair, happily coloring in a sketchpad. She didn't know about the brother she had never met.

"If Victoria Vance had this dossier," Harrison said, pacing near the marble fireplace, his expression hard as flint, "it means someone else currently holds the adoption broker's records. Victoria was just a middleman for an even older, deeper syndicate operating within the New York family courts."

"Who?" Robert asked, his voice shaking with restrained fury.

"Judge Miller," Harrison replied bitterly. "The exact family court judge who tried to grant Victoria emergency custody of Sophia. He retired from the bench last week, cleared out his personal chambers, and booked a private charter flight to Zurich."

Robert slammed his fist onto the table, making the silverware rattle. "He's running with the adoption files."

"Not if we get to him first," Harrison said, his phone buzzing in his palm with a high-priority tracking ping from Logan. "Logan just intercepted his motorcade heading toward Teterboro Airport. We have forty minutes to intercept that flight before a missing grandson of the Morgan dynasty vanishes into Europe forever."
