CHAPTER 10 — The Ghost Walked Into the Reserve
The threat was no longer hidden.
It had a face.
At 2:17 a.m., motion sensors along the eastern fence of the reserve suddenly activated.
One...
Then three...
Then twelve.
Daniel rushed into the security room.
The thermal cameras revealed six figures dressed in camouflage moving silently through the darkness.
One of them wasn't carrying a rifle.
He carried a black metal case.
Daniel's blood ran cold.
"They're not hunters..."
"They're professionals."
Within minutes, every ranger in the reserve was awake.
Emma was escorted to the command center.
The police were still more than an hour away.
They were on their own.
Suddenly...
Every security camera went black.
The entire reserve lost power.
Darkness swallowed everything.
Only the distant roars of lions echoed across the valley.
Then a voice crackled through Daniel's emergency radio.
A calm...
Cold...
Confident voice.
"You took everything from me."
"Tonight..."
"I'll take everything from you."
The Ghost had entered the reserve himself.
Outside, the lions became strangely restless.
The black-maned king stood on a rocky hill, staring into the darkness.
One by one...
Lionesses gathered behind him.
The young lion stood beside his father.
Without making a sound...
May you like
The pride began moving toward the eastern boundary.
Toward the intruders.
