Chapter 17 - The Digital ExcavationWorking alongside Vance Global’s elite cyber-forensics team, Chloe and her legal associates tore into Daniel’s old digital footprint with the precision of surgeons.

Within forty-eight hours, the team discovered three encrypted cryptocurrency wallets registered under a dummy corporation in the Cayman Islands—wallets that Daniel had funded using embezzled corporate assets just before his fateful luxury cruise.
"He really thought he was a criminal mastermind, didn't he?" Chloe laughed incredulously, spinning her laptop monitor around so I could see the blockchain transaction logs. "Look at this. He stashed nearly three hundred thousand dollars in digital currency, thinking government auditors couldn't touch blockchain assets without a private key."
"And did we find the private key?" I asked, leaning over the desk.
Chloe tapped her keyboard twice, bringing up a scanned document retrieved from a cloud storage account linked to Daniel’s old prison phone logs.
"We didn't just find the private key," Chloe smirked. "We found the recovery phrase written on a notepad photo that he foolishly texted to an inmate associate who turned out to be an undercover informant for the prison warden."

I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Daniel’s staggering arrogance and perpetual need to trust the wrong people had, once again, become his ultimate undoing.
"File an emergency motion with Judge Henderson," I instructed, my eyes sparkling with determination. "Let's strip every last digital cent from those wallets and transfer them directly into the Vance-Miller Foundation endowment fund."
