Chapter 20 - The Horizon of TomorrowThe sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the evening sky in brilliant shades of amber, violet, and gold.

I stood on the wide wooden porch of my home, holding a cup of tea in my hand while the gentle evening breeze ruffled my hair. Down the street, neighbors were walking their dogs, children were laughing in the distance, and the world moved forward in a steady, peaceful rhythm.

There, tucked neatly into the white molding, was the sleek, black dome of the security camera. Its tiny blue light pulsed softly in the gathering twilight—unblinking, watchful, and steadfast.

A reminder of where I had been, what I had survived, and the price of underestimating a woman who refuses to be broken.

The past was buried in ash. The villains were locked behind cold iron bars. And my daughter and I were safe, standing in the bright, unyielding light of a brand-new day.
