Chapter 15 - The UltimatumHeavy boots thundered down the exterior corridor. Through the thick glass of the server bay doors, the dark, tactical uniforms of federal agents flooded the hallway, rifles leveled and ready.

At the front of the formation stood Director Vance Jr.—Marcus Vance’s ambitious, corrupt cousin who had spent years operating inside the federal apparatus to shield the syndicate’s rivals.
Director Vance stepped up to the glass, a smug, triumphant grin twisting his features. He keyed the intercom system, his voice filtering through the server room speakers.
“It’s over, Adrian,” Vance sneered into his radio. “Drop your weapons and step away from the terminal. You thought you could clean house in New York and leave us with nothing? This facility is federal property now. And that data drive in your hand is your ticket to a life sentence in a supermax prison.”
Adrian didn't flinch. He kept his eyes locked on the monitor as the progress bar hit 98%.
“You’re standing on sinking sand, Vance,” Adrian replied coolly, his voice broadcasting back through the hallway speakers. “You think arresting me saves your neck? The moment this wipe finishes, your entire network—every bribe you took from Marcus, every offshore account in Zurich—is automatically transmitted to the internal affairs division.”
Vance’s smug smile faltered for a fraction of a second, panic flashing in his eyes. “Shoot out the glass! Take him down—now!”
The hallway erupted in a deafening storm of gunfire as tactical teams opened fire, spiderwebbing the bulletproof glass with white fractures.
“Boss! The drive!” Dominic shouted, laying down suppressive fire through the heavy door frame.
