Chapter 30 - An Everlasting Legacy

Years later, a plaque stood at the grand entrance of the Miller-Hamilton Center for Justice downtown, reading: “Truth is not defined by power, wealth, or title. It is upheld by the courage of ordinary people who refuse to be silenced.”

Inside the grand estate, the kitchen still smelled of warm vanilla and fresh baking. Clara stood by the marble island, helping her teenage son—and eventually, grandchildren—shape cookie dough into clumsy little shapes, laughing as flour dusted their noses.

Adam walked into the kitchen, wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, and kissed her cheek.

Clara leaned back into his embrace, looking out the window at the bright, sunlit gardens where children played freely without fear or prejudice.
