Chapter 19 - The Crown of Protector

The winter gala was a night of warmth, laughter, and brilliant lights that sparkled across the Manhattan skyline.
Dominic stood by the grand floor-to-ceiling windows of the penthouse, holding a crystal glass of bourbon, watching Nora and Ella dance near the Christmas tree with Marco, who had willingly traded his terrifying reputation as an enforcer for the role of an honorary uncle.
Isabella Moretti walked up beside her son, leaning slightly on her cane, her eyes shining with maternal pride as she watched the children play.
"You built an empire of blood, Dominic," Isabella said softly, her voice carrying the hard-won wisdom of a matriarch who had survived every storm. "And yet, your greatest legacy is the sanctuary you carved out for two children who had nothing."
