Chapter 17 - The Epilogue of VengeanceThree months later.

The courtroom in Manhattan Federal District Court was packed to the absolute brim. Flashbulbs blinded the defendants as Julian Vance, Marcus Vance, and their remaining co-conspirators were led in chains before the judge.
Sitting in the front row of the gallery, wearing a sharp black trench coat and dark sunglasses, was Clara Whitmore. Beside her sat little Sophie, holding a small plush wolf and swinging her legs happily.
As the judge slammed his gavel down—delivering consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole for Julian and his inner circle—the courtroom erupted into murmurs.
Clara didn't smile. She didn't gloat. She simply stood up, adjusted her sunglasses, and walked calmly out of the courtroom, holding her daughter’s hand.
Waiting for her on the courthouse steps, shielded by a phalanx of private attorneys and security, stood Adrian.
He looked different—humble, stripped of his arrogant armor, carrying the heavy weight of a man who had finally learned what truly mattered in life.
Clara stopped walking a few feet away from him.
Adrian looked down at little Sophie, who offered him a small, cautious smile before hiding behind her mother’s skirt. Adrian swallowed hard, looking back up into Clara’s fierce emerald eyes.
"The DOJ returned the controlling shares of Whitmore Enterprises to the rightful primary stakeholder this morning," Adrian said quietly, his voice steady. "To you, Clara."
Clara tilted her head, the autumn wind blowing her dark hair across her shoulders. "I know, Adrian. And I’ve already signed the papers."

Adrian’s breath caught in his throat. "You... you sold it again?"
"No," Clara replied, stepping closer, a warm, genuine smile finally touching her lips for the first time in years. "I’m running it. As CEO. On my terms."
