Chapter 4 - The Predator UnleashedThe silence in the nursery was absolute, heavy enough to crush a man’s chest.

Adrian Whitmore did not scream. He did not yell. He simply stood frozen, his knuckles turning pure white as he gripped the edges of the black box. His entire world—the last five years of his life, his remarriage, his trust, his guilt—collapsed into ash.
Vanessa had played him. She had murdered his wife, framed it as an accident, wormed her way into his bed, and raised his daughter while plotting to steal his entire empire.
"Adrian..." Vanessa whimpered, falling to her knees and grabbing the hem of his tailored trousers. Her eyes were wide, wet with crocodile tears. "It’s... it’s a deepfake! Tech is so advanced now! Clara hired hackers to frame me! You know I love you! You know I could never—"
Adrian looked down at her. His gaze was no longer human. It was the look of a starving apex predator that had just realized it was being fed poison by its mate.
With a single, violent motion, Adrian ripped his leg away. Vanessa tumbled backward onto the hardwood floor, gasping.
"Guards," Adrian whispered, his voice dangerously low, vibrating with a wrath that promised absolute destruction.
"Sir?" the head of security stepped forward immediately.
"Lock down the estate. Nobody leaves. Seal every exit, freeze all of her accounts, and confiscate her phone. If she so much as breathes without my permission, break her legs."
"Yes, Mr. Whitmore!"
Vanessa scrambled backward, panic finally breaking through her calculated facade. "You can't do this! My family has lawyers! The board will—"
"Your family is nothing without me," Adrian interrupted, his voice cutting through her threats like a razor blade. "And the board will vote however I tell them to, the moment I show them this recording. You are finished, Vanessa."
Two guards grabbed Vanessa by her arms, hoisting her up as she kicked and shrieked like a wild animal being dragged to the slaughterhouse. As they hauled her out of the room, her venomous screams echoed down the long hallway.

"You’ll never get away with this, Adrian! Clara is a ghost! She’ll ruin you too!"
The heavy oak doors slammed shut, cutting off her voice.
