Chapter 19 - The Alpine PromiseTwo years later.

High up in the Swiss Alps, far away from the flashing lights of New York skyscrapers, the corporate wars, and the shadows of betrayal, stood a cozy, sunlit wooden chalet overlooking a pristine glacial valley.

Inside, the smell of fresh vanilla and coffee filled the air.

Clara sat on the wooden porch, wrapped in a thick wool blanket, watching the sun set behind the snow-capped mountain peaks, painting the sky in shades of gold and violet.

Footsteps crunched softly on the wooden deck. A pair of warm arms wrapped gently around her shoulders, and a cup of hot chamomile tea was placed on the small table beside her.

Adrian leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head. "Sophie is finally asleep. She spent the entire afternoon building a snow fortress."

Clara leaned back against his chest, smiling as she placed her hand over his. "She’s growing up so fast. She’s just as stubborn and fierce as her mother."

"Thank God for that," Adrian murmured, chuckling softly. "Otherwise, she wouldn't have survived living with two former corporate warlords."

They sat together in comfortable silence, watching the stars begin to emerge in the vast, clear night sky.

Adrian reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, polished silver ring—the very same ring Clara had left on his desk years ago in the ruins of their old life.

He didn't say anything. He simply held it out on his open palm.

Clara looked down at the ring. The pain of the past was gone, replaced by the unbreakable strength they had forged together through fire and ice.

Slowly, deliberately, she picked up the silver ring from his palm.

And slid it back onto her finger.
