Chapter 29 - The Final Reckoning

"Get the children and Elena into the panic tunnel behind the back wall," I instructed Bruno, who was back on his feet, holding his side with gritted teeth.
"I'm not leaving you, boss," Bruno grunted, racking the slide of his shotgun with a satisfying metallic clack.
"It's not a request," I said coldly, standing up and retrieving my carbine. "My father and I have a board meeting to attend."

I stepped out from the doorway, taking a calculated risk, and swept my carbine across three targets in rapid succession. Two dropped instantly; the third caught my shoulder armor with a glancing round that burned hot against my skin.
Beside me, Vincent moved with terrifying precision, flanking the remaining operatives and cutting off their retreat toward the exit stairs.

Five bodies lay motionless across the hallway floor. The Zurich board's elite strike team had been completely wiped out.
