Chapter 20 - The Ultimate Checkmate

The extortion, the Red Serpents, the brutal beatings, the flower shop sanctuary, and even the kidnapping—it had all been her exquisitely detailed, multi-year master plan. She hadn't wanted a simple, messy revenge killing. She wanted Enzo Falcone's entire empire, down to the last brick and dollar. And she knew the only way to bypass his legendary, impenetrable defenses was to weaponize his own buried humanity—to make him care enough to hand her the keys to his kingdom with his own hands.

"You destroyed my family, Enzo," Elena said softly, the barrel steady as a rock. "You took everything from me. But little Mia? She actually grew to love you. And you learned how to love her."

Heavy bootsteps echoed behind Enzo as Marco and twenty elite syndicate enforcers finally breached the cathedral doors, guns raised—only to freeze in horrified absolute shock as they saw Elena holding the ultimate kill shot.

"Step down, transfer the syndicate holdings to my name, and walk away," Elena commanded coldly. "You get to survive, retire in peace, and watch her grow up. Refuse, and we all burn in this cathedral."

Enzo looked over his shoulder at little Mia, who was watching him with wide, confused eyes, and then down at the brutal, blood-soaked empire he had spent thirty years building on a foundation of absolute isolation.
