Chapter 6 - THE COUP D'ÉTAT"Get out of my house," Ryan snarled, finding a sudden surge of fierce, desperate energy. He lunged forward, ignoring the guards, but Julian’s men moved with lightning speed. One of them pinned Ryan’s arms behind his back, forcing him down onto his knees on the hardwood floor.

"Your house?" Julian laughed, a dark, humorless sound. "Ryan, sweet boy, you don't own a single brick of this estate. Your name was never on the corporate charter. Everything—the billions, the mansions, the multi-national conglomerate—belongs to the rightful bloodline. To my son."
"Your son?" Ryan spat, struggling against the guard holding him down. "What son? You just said your child was swapped!"
Julian smiled, raising a hand to signal the doorway.
Heavy footsteps echoed in the hallway. A young man walked into the study. He was roughly Ryan’s age, dressed in a sharp, modern dark suit, with an expression of cold, calculated ambition that mirrored Julian’s perfectly.
Vanessa’s jaw dropped. She stared at the young man, her face turning pale as paper. "Damon...?"
The young man—Damon—looked at Vanessa with total disdain. He kicked the rubber silicone belly lying on the floor with the toe of his expensive leather shoe. "Nice acting, Vanessa. But your little hustle to trap Ryan didn't quite go according to plan, did it?"
Ryan’s eyes widened in sheer disbelief as he looked between Vanessa and Damon. "You... you two know each other?"
"Of course we do, cousin," Damon said smoothly, walking over to the desk and pouring himself a glass of whiskey from the crystal decanter. "Vanessa was my plant inside your inner circle. We needed to push you to the edge, make you arrogant enough to alienate Katherine, and force you to sign away your emergency liquidation powers so Uncle Julian could execute the corporate takeover."
The room spun around me. Everything clicked into place. The fake pregnancy, the sudden hostility from Elena, the engineered breakup—it was all a multi-layered conspiracy designed to destroy Ryan and hand the Sterling empire over to Julian and Damon on a silver platter.
I looked at Ryan. He was still pinned to the floor, his face bruised and pale, staring at the people he had trusted most in the world. The arrogance that had defined him just an hour ago was entirely gone, replaced by the crushing weight of total betrayal.
"Why?" Ryan whispered, his voice cracking. "Mother... why did you raise me as a lie?"
Elena was still huddled on the floor, rocking back and forth, completely catatonic from shock.
Julian walked over to Ryan, crouching down so they were eye-to-eye. "Because she wanted power, Ryan. Just like the rest of us. But empires built on lies always fall."

Julian stood up, adjusting his cuffs, and looked at Damon. "Lock them in the lower west wing. Call the board of directors. Tell them an emergency restructuring meeting is commencing in one hour. The Sterling dynasty has a new master."
As the guards hauled Ryan up by his arms, dragging him out of the study, Ryan caught my eye for a fraction of a second. There was no anger left in his gaze—only a silent, desperate plea for help.
