Chapter 15 - THE RESURRECTION OF SUBJECT ZERO | "The Woman Standing at the Podium Wasn't a Stranger... She Was the Real Clara Vance."

Bulletproof glass didn't shatter—it spider-webbed under the force of Clara's armor-piercing rounds. Panic erupted in the auditorium as the world's elite scrambled for the exits, hunted by sudden security system failures engineered by Subject Zero.
Director Harrison drew a sidearm, screaming for his personal guards, but Julian dropped from the balcony above, taking Harrison to the floor in a brutal tackle.
Clara sprinted down the center aisle, her boots echoing against the marble floor until she stood directly beneath the damaged sphere. Blue fluid was leaking from the cracks, dripping like heavy, glowing tears onto the steel platform below.
A holographic projection flickered to life on the pedestal beside the sphere.
The hologram solidified into the image of a woman—Clara Vance. She looked tired, her eyes filled with centuries of unbearable knowledge, but her face was unmistakably the original template from which Clara had been forged.
"Hello, Seven," the hologram said softly.
Clara raised her rifle, her teeth grit. "You dragged me across the world. You let those hitmen hunt me. You let my life in Chicago be destroyed. Why?!"
"Because you were my only success," Subject Zero replied, a gentle, sorrowful smile touching her holographic lips. "Arthur thought he was building a weapon. Olympus thought they were building a cage. But when I realized they were going to steal my mind, I hid a virus inside my own neural architecture before they put me in this tank."
"The virus... was me?" Clara asked, her voice faltering.
"The virus was humanity," Subject Zero whispered. "I realized that a synthetic mind with pure intellect would always become a monster. So I programmed Subject Seven to be dropped into the most ordinary, boring, exhausting life possible. I needed you to experience love, heartbreak, tired feet on a rainy train, the taste of cold coffee, and the quiet dignity of being nobody."
May you like
Subject Zero stepped closer in holographic space, reaching out her glowing hand to touch Clara’s chest.
"I needed you to gain a soul, Seven. Because only a mind with a soul can destroy the network without becoming corrupt."
