Chapter 13 - The Stolen Bloodline

"Sensors triggered," a cold, computerized voice echoed through the hidden bunker. "Lockdown initiated. Oxygen depletion in ten minutes."

Adrian threw his shoulder against the reinforced steel door, but it didn't budge. "Victoria!" he yelled into the security cameras mounted in the corners. "Show yourself!"

Grace didn't waste time shouting. She rushed to the oak desk, sweeping aside papers until she found a leather-bound medical ledger stamped with a red classified seal from eight months ago—the night Evelyn gave birth.

She flipped the pages rapidly, her eyes widening in complete shock.

"Adrian, look at this!" Grace gasped.

Adrian rushed to her side. On the yellowed page was Evelyn's official labor delivery record. But where the public birth certificate listed a single child—Leo—the internal medical ledger showed something else entirely.

Child A: Male (Leo Harrington) – Delivered 11:42 PM. Child B: Female (Maya Harrington) – Delivered 11:46 PM.

"Twins..." Adrian whispered, his voice cracking with unbearable shock. "Evelyn had twins?"

"Victoria was in the delivery room," Grace read, her blood running cold as she digested the truth. "She stole the baby girl the second she was born. Evelyn realized Maya was missing weeks later—that’s why Victoria had Evelyn poisoned! Evelyn was going to go to the FBI to get her daughter back!"

"My daughter is alive," Adrian said, tears welling in his eyes as he stared at the birth record. "I have a daughter."

"And Victoria has her," Grace said fiercely. She pulled a micro-frequency jammer from her boot, slammed it into the control panel beside the sealed steel door, and activated the pulse.

Sparks flew. The electronic lock short-circuited with a loud bang, and the heavy door hissed open.

"We have to find her," Grace said, drawing her weapon. "Before Victoria realizes we survived this room."
