Chapter 15 - The Fortress of Glass

Thirty-six hours later. A fierce storm raged over the Aegean Sea.
Jagged lightning illuminated the jagged cliffs of a private, heavily fortified island. Perched on the highest peak stood the Fortress of Glass—a massive, ultra-modern mansion constructed entirely of bulletproof glass and steel, surrounded by armed patrols and automated turret systems.
A high-speed tactical speedboat cut through the massive ocean waves, killing its engine two hundred yards from the island's rocky shore.
Grace and Adrian stepped onto the wet rocks, clad in black wet-suits.
"The main gate is guarded by thermal sensors," Grace said, checking her wrist display. "We go up the cliff face. It’s the blind spot."
"I'm climbing with you," Adrian said firmly. The billionaire was no longer the soft corporate executive he had been weeks ago. The fire to save his stolen daughter had transformed him.
They scaled the sheer, wet rock face in complete darkness, reaching the lower balcony of the fortress undetected. Grace bypassed the glass door's electronic lock using an encrypted code she had extracted from Vivian.
They slipped inside. The interior of the fortress was eerily quiet, illuminated only by the flashes of lightning outside.
Grace led the way through the marble corridors, her weapon raised, until they reached a grand, glass-walled atrium overlooking the churning ocean below.
Sitting in a high-backed leather chair in the middle of the room was an elderly woman with silver hair, impeccably dressed in a tailored white suit, sipping tea from a porcelain cup.
Behind her stood a small white crib. Inside the crib, a little girl with bright green eyes—identical to Leo's—was sitting quietly, holding a silver rattle.

Victoria Harrington turned her head slowly, a cold, elegant smile gracing her lips.
"You're late, Adrian," Victoria said smoothly. "I expected you yesterday."
