Chapter 10 - Crown of Shadows

The city lights of Manhattan twinkled in the distance like a sprawling sea of diamonds as viewed from the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Morty penthouse.

Lorenzo and Alina stood together on the private balcony, wrapped in the cool evening breeze, watching the empire they had built—and saved—together.

Inside, Mia had finally fallen asleep in her grand canopy bed, clutching her toy rabbit, safe from the dark underworld that swirled outside their gates.

"Do you ever miss the quiet life?" Alina asked softly, resting her head against Lorenzo’s shoulder.

"There was no quiet life before you, Alina," Lorenzo replied, wrapping his arms securely around her waist, pulling her close against his heart. "There was only waiting. You gave me a future I never thought I deserved."

She turned in his arms, looking up into his sharp blue eyes, which now held only devotion.
