Chapter 11 - The Inheritance of Iron

The smoke from the gala had cleared, but the political earthquake it triggered shook the entire East Coast underworld. Lorenzo Morty’s swift execution of Victor Santoro sent a chilling message to every remaining faction: the throne was not just held by fear anymore; it was fortified by blood.

In the high-security executive suite of the Morty tower, Alina sat behind a mahogany table covered in corporate transfer documents, asset seizures, and operational restructuring sheets. Her glasses caught the glow of twin monitors as her fingers flew across the keyboard with the precision of a master auditor.

Lorenzo leaned against the doorframe, a cup of black coffee in his hand, watching her with a mixture of awe and protective intensity.

"You've frozen three shell companies in the Caymans before noon," Lorenzo noted, a slight smirk playing on his lips. "At this rate, the commission won't just respect you; they'll start asking you for tax advice."

Alina didn't look up from her screen, though a faint smile touched her lips. "Respect in this world is bought with transparency, Lorenzo. Santoro left a mess of unverified liabilities. If we want the syndicate to survive the federal transition to legitimate logistics, every cent needs to be accounted for."

"Let them look," Lorenzo murmured, stepping closer and placing the coffee cup beside her keyboard. "They’ll only find a clean ledger and an empire legally owned by the woman who outsmarted them all."
