Chapter 8 - Blood and Loyalty

Before Victor’s guards could raise their pistols, the mahogany doors of the ballroom blew inward.
Dozens of loyal Morty enforcers—led by the head of security who had sworn absolute blood oaths to Lorenzo—flooded the room, their submachine guns locked and loaded.
"Drop your weapons!" the head of security roared.
Victor’s men hesitated, looking around the room. They were outnumbered three to one. The gamble had failed. Victor turned his gun toward Lorenzo, his finger tightening on the trigger in a desperate, suicidal lunge.
Bang!
A single shot echoed through the ballroom.
It wasn't Lorenzo who fired. From the VIP gallery above, Elena—the head housekeeper who had secretly protected Alina and Mia for six months—lowered a sniper rifle with military precision.
Victor Santoro clutched his chest, dropped his weapon, and crashed face-first onto the polished parquet floor. Dead before he hit the ground.
Absolute, suffocating silence settled over the room.

Lorenzo adjusted his cuffs, stepped over Victor’s body, and looked out across the terrified crowd of capos and syndicate leaders.
"Let this be a lesson," Lorenzo’s voice echoed like thunder through the ballroom. "Anyone who touches my family, touches my blood, or questions my throne will share Santoro’s fate. The meeting is adjourned."
