Chapter 25 - The Unholy AllianceThe private lounge of a high-end Miami hotel was dimly lit, smelling of expensive bourbon and leather upholstery.

Julian Vance poured two fingers of amber liquid into a crystal tumbler, sliding it across the marble table toward Bella Langford. She took it with manicured fingers that trembled slightly despite her attempt to look cool and composed.
“Let’s get one thing straight, Bella,” Julian said smoothly, his eyes sharp and predatory. “You come to me claiming you have insider access to Catherine Ashford’s private foundation files. But last time I checked, you were just a twenty-four-year-old marketing coordinator who got dumped at a garden gate.”
Bella’s jaw tightened, a flash of genuine anger crossing her face. “I worked closely with Owen’s inner circle for six months before the crash, Julian. I saw where they backed up their internal compliance mirrors. When Owen was panicking, he gave me administrative access to backup servers that the federal liquidators missed.”
Julian swirled his bourbon, watching the golden liquid catch the amber light. “And what makes you think those backup files contain anything Catherine hasn't already locked down with her high-priced Swiss lawyers?”
“Because Owen wasn't just hiding money from the federal government,” Bella leaned forward, lowering her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “He was hiding private communications between Catherine’s father and offshore political donors—files that prove the Vale Foundation’s initial medical land grants in Palm Beach were secured through judicial influence peddling. If we leak those files selectively, we can slap the foundation with a federal injunction, paralyze their board, and force Catherine into a multi-million-dollar settlement.”
Julian let out a low, appreciative whistle. He looked at Bella with a new level of respect—not for her charm, but for her ruthless desperation. Desperate people made the best weapons.
“If we pull this off, Bella, what's your cut?” Julian asked softly.

“Ten percent of every liquidated asset recovered from the foundation,” Bella stated firmly. “And a one-way ticket out of Florida.”
Julian extended his hand across the table, his fingers clasping hers in a silent, unholy pact. “Deal. Let’s bring the queen down.”
