Chapter 10 - THE DAWN OF A NEW EMPIRE (THE FINALE)The morning sun broke over Manhattan, washing the glass skyscrapers in brilliant gold and amber light.

Inside the private chambers of Judge Sterling, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Jonathan Vance stood near the mahogany conference table, looking smug, flanked by two corporate lawyers and a representative from Child Protective Services.
"Your Honor," Jonathan began smoothly, adjusting his tie. "As the emergency filings demonstrate, Mr. Maddox is entirely unsuited for custody, and Mrs. Maddox has demonstrated erratic behavior—"
The heavy oak doors of the chambers swung wide open.
Grayson walked in. He wore a crisp, dark suit that bore no sign of the rain or the frantic midnight chase. On his arm walked Amelia, her chin held high, wearing the same sage-green dress she had worn at the wedding.
And cradled peacefully in Grayson’s arms was Chloe, sleeping soundly in a soft white blanket.
Judge Sterling raised a hand, cutting Jonathan off immediately. "Mr. Vance, before you proceed with your theatrical accusations, I suggest you look at the tablet resting on your desk."
Jonathan frowned, picking up the device. As his eyes scanned the digital document, all color drained instantly from his face. His hands began to shake.
"This... this is impossible," Jonathan stammered, looking up in sheer horror. "You foreclosed on my personal debt? You can't legally—"
"Every note, every asset, every collateralized property you used to fund this slanderous campaign has been legally acquired by Maddox Development as of 6:00 AM," Grayson said, his voice cold, rhythmic, and absolute. "Furthermore, the emergency CPS warrant has been formally vacated by this court after a comprehensive independent audit proved your allegations were entirely fabricated."
Jonathan stumbled backward, his legal team whispering frantically behind him before packing their briefcases and rushing out the door. Jonathan realized, too late, that he had gone to war with a man who owned the very ground he stood on.
Judge Sterling adjusted his glasses, looking sternly across the desk. "Case dismissed. Furthermore, I have signed the permanent joint-custody and paternity establishment decree filed by Mr. Maddox's counsel."
Outside the courthouse, flashbulbs exploded once again—not from hostile tabloids, but from a sea of reporters eager to capture the shocking reconciliation of Manhattan's most powerful billionaire and the woman who had brought him to his knees.
Grayson stopped on the courthouse steps, shielding Chloe from the blinding light. He looked down at Amelia, who stood beside him, the morning wind catching her sage-green dress.
"So," Amelia said softly, a genuine, radiant smile touching her lips for the first time in years. "What happens to the neutral penthouse now?"
Grayson smiled back, the coldness in his eyes entirely replaced by a warmth that made the billion-dollar empire fade into insignificance.
"We sell it," Grayson said, taking her hand in his free one, interlacing their fingers tightly. "I bought a brownstone in Brooklyn with a massive kitchen, a big backyard, and a nursery painted lavender. I figured the owner would want to move in as soon as possible."

Amelia laughed—a sound that echoed like music over the steps of the courthouse, signaling the true beginning of their forever.
Hook: The ruthless billionaire trades his empty penthouse for a real home, proving that the only empire worth fighting for is the one built on love, forgiveness, and family.
