The North Sea was thrashing with 30-foot waves under an ink-black sky.

The massive steel hull of The Phantom Fleet sub had broken the surface near an offshore oil rig. Julian Rowan and his last remaining mercenaries had successfully breached the central command bridge.

"Once I upload this master override... the world will bow to me!" Julian laughed hysterically, tapping rapidly on the nuclear terminal.

SPARKS FLY!

The heavy hydraulic bulkhead was blasted open! Gabriel Rowan stepped into the command room, soaked in saltwater and blood, his eyes carrying the dark judgment of a storm.

"It’s over, Dad," Gabriel said, his voice terrifyingly calm.

"You won't shoot me!" Julian sneered, pulling out a dead-man's trigger linked to the sub's reactor. "If my heart stops, this entire sector detonates!"

Gabriel tossed his rifle onto the steel deck. "I won't shoot you."

Julian paused, confused.

Gabriel lunged forward with explosive speed, driving a brutal combat strike into Julian’s wrist, knocking the detonator flying!

A savage hand-to-hand fight broke out on the slick steel floor. Julian pulled a tactical trench knife, slashing Gabriel's shoulder, but Gabriel—fueled by fourteen years of pain and love for his children—locked Julian in a crushing headlock and slammed his head into the high-voltage master breaker panel!
