Chapter 6 - THE SHADOW BROKER😱 THE BIGGEST TWIST YET! THE REAL VILLAIN ISN'T EVAN... IT'S SOMEONE GABRIEL THOUGHT WAS DEAD FOR 14 YEARS! 🔥

The interior of Grain Silo #4 was a cavernous nightmare of rusted iron and echoing shadows.

Gabriel stepped through the heavy steel door, holding a metallic briefcase in his right hand. Above him, on a catwalk forty feet in the air, Evan Cross stood near the railing, holding a remote detonator. Tied to two wooden chairs below the catwalk were Leo and Maya, their mouths taped shut, their eyes wide with terror.

"Step into the light, Gabriel!" Evan shouted down, his voice echoing loudly against the hollow metal walls. "Place the briefcase on the barrel and slide it forward!"

Gabriel did not flinch. He walked into the circle of yellow light cast by an overhead halogen lamp. "Where are the kids' guards, Evan? You didn't come here alone."

"Oh, he's not alone," a deep, booming voice resonated from the darkness behind the catwalk.

Gabriel’s body went completely stiff.

From the shadows stepped a tall, imposing figure walking with a rhythmic tap of a golden cane. He wore a pristine charcoal suit, his face lined with age, but his dark, piercing eyes were instantly recognizable.

Julian Rowan.

Gabriel’s father. The man who was supposedly gunned down in front of the Federal Courthouse fourteen years ago.

"Dad?" Gabriel whispered, his heart stopping in his chest. "You're... you died..."

"I staged my death, Gabriel," Julian said coldly, looking down at his son with utter contempt. "Because you were soft! You wanted to go legitimate! You wanted to turn Rowan Freight into an audited, tax-paying corporate playground! You were throwing away three generations of empire for a woman and a quiet life!"

"You... you ordered Evan to do this?" Gabriel gasped, pieces of a terrifying puzzle falling into place.

"Evan has been my loyal lieutenant for fourteen years!" Julian roared. "He didn't betray you, Gabriel! You betrayed us! When you brought Clara into this family, you brought an agent's bloodline into my house! I ordered Evan to execute her, and I ordered him to drain your company until I was ready to step back into the light and reclaim what is mine!"

Gabriel felt his entire world disintegrate. The fourteen years of grief, the guilt, the struggle to go clean—it wasn't a tragic twist of fate. It was a calculated execution staged by his own blood.

"And now," Julian sneered, pointing his cane at Leo and Maya, "I will wipe out the rest of your weak bloodline."
