Chapter 14 - The Ghost OperativeInside the dimly lit safe room, Lucas and Mateo sat quietly with Sofia, trying to be brave, though tears streaked their faces.

"Are we going to be trapped down here forever, Isabella?" Mateo asked quietly, his voice trembling.
"No," Isabella promised, kneeling down to look each of them in the eyes. "Your father and the security team are fighting to protect us. And I am going to make sure nobody touches you. Ever."
She turned her attention back to the surveillance console. Most of the cameras had been disabled, but one hidden thermal lens in the main study remained functional.
On the screen, a tall, imposing figure in a custom tactical coat stood calmly in the center of the room. He wasn't wearing a mask. Instead, his face was exposed—a sharp, cold expression with a distinct vertical scar running down his right cheek.
It was Commander Vance Logan—no relation to Marcus, but a high-ranking mercenary leader of the Obsidian Network and the man who had trained Victor Thorne years ago.

Logan looked directly into the hidden thermal camera lens, knowing exactly where it was, and smiled a chilling, mocking smile.
"I know you're watching, little street rat," Logan’s voice crackled through the safe room's encrypted audio receiver. "You can hide in the hole all you want. But unless you walk out through those front doors in ten minutes, I start burning down every room in this mansion."
