Chapter 27 - The Trap SprungIsabella slipped past the shelving units and sprinted down the final corridor toward the university mainframe room. The heavy steel door stood ajar, glowing with the blue light of active server racks inside.

She lunged forward, sliding through the gap and slamming the heavy door shut behind her, throwing the manual deadbolt.
Clack.
Safe, for the moment.
Isabella spun around to access the master terminal. But as the monitor illuminated her face, the blood drained from her cheeks.
The terminal screen wasn't locked. It was displaying a live video feed of the Stanford quad—and parked right outside the library steps was Marcus Vance’s black SUV, surrounded by three unmarked vehicles.

Julian’s voice crackled through the mainframe’s internal intercom speaker, cold and triumphant: "Did you really think I didn't plan for Marcus to come looking for you, Izzy? He walked right into the trap."
