Arthur Bell sat at the head of the massive mahogany table, flanked by three senior vice presidents and corporate counsel. Projected onto the smart screen at the front of the room was a detailed flowchart outlining Grant Monroe’s intricate network of fraudulent shell companies, fake vendor invoices, and unauthorized offshore transfers.
"The internal audit is complete," Arthur announced, his voice echoing authoritatively across the silent room. "Grant Monroe systematically siphoned four point two million dollars over a thirty-six-month period. Half of those funds were funneled into personal real estate holdings and lifestyle expenses associated with his private life."
One of the junior VPs shifted uncomfortably. "Arthur, how did this go unnoticed by compliance for so long? Won't this look terrible for the executive board during the upcoming annual shareholder meeting?"
Arthur turned his sharp, unblinking gaze onto the VP. "It would have looked catastrophic if we tried to cover it up, David. But thanks to Evelyn Monroe—who quietly flagged the initial discrepancies and brought them directly to my attention with ironclad documentation—we are positioned as the victims of corporate fraud who acted swiftly and decisively to purge bad actors."
The room murmured in quiet agreement.

A quiet ripple of respect passed through the room.
