Chapter 11 - THE SYNDICATE'S SHADOW OVER FORT LAUDERDALE

The federal grand jury indictment against Viktor Vance was supposed to be the final nail in the coffin for the international shipping cartel. Yet, deep inside the high-security holding cells of the federal penitentiary in Miami, the billionaire criminal mastermind was far from defeated. Sitting on a cold metal bench with a chilling, knowing smirk across his face, Viktor tapped his fingers against the table. He knew something Richard Sterling didn't: Arthur Pendelton was only a mid-level asset. The real operational core of the Zurich syndicate—known internally as Project Triton—had already embedded deep corporate tentacles inside Sterling Atlantic Logistics.
Back at the Fort Lauderdale estate, the ocean breeze felt heavier than usual. Richard sat in his private office, staring at a flash drive recovered from the wreckage of the Marina Bay storage facility. The encrypted drive required a dual-key biometric authorization to unlock, and Richard was missing the secondary authentication code.
Marina walked in quietly, carrying a cup of black coffee. She set it gently on the mahogany desk, her eyes reflecting deep anxiety. "Richard, the federal marshals called. They said Viktor Vance is refusing extradition to Switzerland, and his legal team filed an emergency motion to block the freezing of his remaining domestic assets."
"Let them file," Richard said coldly, his eyes never leaving the glowing monitor. "The moment we crack this drive, we expose every single domestic shell company funneling cash to his cartel. They won't have enough money left to buy a cup of coffee, let alone a legal defense."
Suddenly, the house intercom buzzed sharply.

Security detail chief Marcus Garcia’s voice crackled through the speaker, strained and urgent. "Mr. Sterling! We have an unscheduled visitor at the front gate. Refuses to show ID, but claims they have a message regarding Luna's biological background that could destroy your family permanently."
Richard’s blood ran cold. He stood up so fast his chair slammed against the wall. "Lock down the perimeter. Do not let them enter."
