Chapter 2 - The Stunned Silence

The sharp crash of shattering crystal broke the heavy silence hanging over the hotel entrance. For a second, the only sound was the distant chirping of birds and the clicking of camera shutters capturing every angle of Emily and her trio.

Olivia’s smile vanished, her eyes darting furiously between Emily and the three miniature boys. "David... who are they? Why do they look like you?" she hissed, her voice trembling with rising panic.

David couldn't speak. His throat felt completely dry, his pulse hammering wildly in his ears. He stared at the three boys. The sharp jawline, the piercing dark eyes, the exact shape of the nose—they were miniature clones of himself, staring at him with an eerie, composed calm.

Emily didn't rush. She slowly pulled off her designer sunglasses, tucking them into her clutch, and glided up the steps with the grace of a queen returning to her throne. She stopped just two feet away from the trembling groom.

"Looking for a wedding gift, David?" Emily’s voice was smooth, carrying a sharp edge of absolute power that cut straight through the tense air. "You didn't think I'd miss your special day, did you? Especially after you went out of your way to mail three separate invitations to my boutique."

"E-Emily..." David stammered, taking an involuntary step back, nearly tripping over the edge of the floral arrangement. "What is... how are you... who are..." He pointed a shaking finger down at the triplets. "Whose kids are those?"

A collective gasp rippled through the gathered wedding guests. Whispers exploded into a chaotic roar. Olivia turned to David, her face turning a furious shade of crimson. "You told me you were completely single! You told me she was a barren, clingy burden!"
