Chapter 3 - The Tables Turn

"Quiet! Everyone, please, keep quiet!" Olivia shrieked, her voice cracking as she tried to salvage her dream wedding while flashing cameras recorded her public humiliation. She glared venomously at Emily. "You planned this! You’re just a gold-digger trying to ruin our wedding because you couldn't stand seeing him move on to someone with real money!"
Emily let out a calm, melodic laugh that completely dismantled Olivia's desperate narrative.
"Gold-digger?" Emily stepped closer, her emerald dress rustling softly. "Olivia, honey, let's get one thing straight. When David and I were married, I worked three jobs to pay for his law school textbooks while he sat at home playing video games. I built the foundation of his career with my bare hands. When he finally passed the bar and made his first million, he traded me in for a younger model with a trust fund. But while he was busy burying me in poverty, I built Eternity Couture—an international design brand that brought in over eight million dollars in revenue last year alone."
Emily casually pulled a sleek, gold-plated business card from her clutch and flicked it onto the chest pocket of David’s spotless tuxedo.
"In fact," Emily continued smoothly, "your wedding venue? The Grand Horizon Hotel? My corporation just bought the entire parent holding group yesterday morning. Which technically means... you're currently standing on my property."
David gasped, his face turning an alarming shade of pale grey. He grabbed Emily’s arm, his voice dropping into a desperate, pleading whisper. "Emily, please... don't do this. We had a history. We can talk about this inside. Send the kids away—"

Before David could finish his sentence, the eldest of the triplets, a sharp-eyed boy named Leo, stepped forward, crossed his tiny arms, and looked up at David with a terrifyingly adult level of disdain.
"Don't touch our mom," Leo said clearly, his voice carrying effortlessly across the silent courtyard. "Our mom taught us how to build a business, how to be honest, and how never to beg a loser for anything. You're not worthy of being our dad."
